Transport to Bournemouth
On arrival in the UK, you have the following connections to Bournemouth:
Direct train from Waterloo Station (single ticket price approximately £21 if booked in advance) www.nationalrail.co.uk
National Express Coach from Gatwick and Heathrow Airport Coach Station, which is walking distance from all terminals. Travel time from the airports to Bournemouth is approximately 2-3 hours. You can obtain timetables and tickets via their website (single ticket price approximately £25 - £40) www.nationalexpress.com.
Transfer by taxi, arranged through GATE -£90 (Please let us know in advance if you want us to arrange a taxi for you)
From Bournemouth Coach and Rail station you can get a taxi to your accommodation. They wait just outside the train station on both sides. A taxi will cost about a minimum of £5 from station and should be paid in cash. If you wish to book in advance you may call UNITED TAXIS on (+44) 01202 55 66 77.
If you are in host family accommodation, they will show you how to get to the college from the house where you will be staying. If you are in private accommodation, we will give you directions before you come .You may also look in google map for directions. Just type in our post code BH8 8JX.
If you come from the European Union, healthcare is free of charge.
If you come from a country outside the EU, insurance is required. It is best to organise this before you come to the UK.
Once in the UK, if you need to see the doctor or dentist, go to one nearest your accommodation or the college. If you are staying longer than 6 months, you may register with the local surgery (clinic). If you have any problems with this, we will be happy to help you register and make appointments etc. Just ask in the office for help.

Public Transport in Bournemouth
The Yellow Bus service is one of the best ways to get around if it is too far to walk.
One way yellow bus ticket for central Bournemouth from GATE College: £1.50
By using a yellow bus medium hop return it will cost : £2.30 adult fare
